School of Education – Essential Forms, Policies and Processes
Extensions, Appeals and Policy
Extensions:
All assessment extensions are governed by the guidelines contained in the Curtin University Assessment and Student Progression policy (see policy document below). If an extension to an assessment due date is needed, this can only be provided through a formal Assessment Extension request.
Assessment extensions can be submitted using the online form available here.
You will be notified of the outcome of your application via the Official Communications Channel (OCC) within five working days. The OCC in OASIS is separate from your student email, please see the OASIS help pages for information on using the Official Communications Channel (OCC).
Appeals:
Students who have evidence that the mark or result they were awarded for an assessment task is inaccurate, are encouraged to raise their concerns with the Unit Coordinator.
Alternatively they may lodge a formal appeal against their assessment results. For more information or to request a review or lodge a formal appeal, please see Curtin’s Appeal against assessment website here.
Please note, assessment appeals must be submitted within 10 working days of the date when you received the mark for the assessment task.
Policy:
The link below is the Assessment and Student Progression Manual – it contains details about assessment policy, appeals processes and other details relevant to your assessment and progression through your course.
